I just came across this very interesting little camera by Yashica, the Japanese camera manufacturer. It’s a little 5 megapixel, fixed plastic lens, digital camera. And I guess it’s pretty cheap too, like 100 bucks or so. The funny thing is the way the sensor works, it’s more like a rolling shutter in that it seems to scan the image rather then capture the image all at one. Because if this it suffers from the same thing some digital SLRs that can take video suffer from, angled lines that should be straight, either because the subject is moving or the photographer is moving too fast. But then again, aren’t these types of funky little flaws the reason Holgas is so popular to begin with? Anyway, check out the video from Japan Exposures below.
